This is a painting of Mount Rainier. One skill I learned while making this was that starting from the background and working to the foreground made it way easier to layer colors and make things look more 3D. One element that was most emphasized in my work was depth. I really focused on making sure you could see the depth from the background to the foreground. Using depth allowed my artwork to seem more alive and realistic.

These are two drawings focusing on perspective. One is an exterior perspective of the school and the other is an interior perspective of one of the hallways in the school. One skill I really had to focus on while doing the exterior drawing was accurate measurement. A skill that I had to work on while doing the interior one was making sure I captured the linear perspective that was present. The principle that was most emphasized between these two drawings were lines and shapes because that's what I had to make sure I was doing right while drawing. The principle of lines and shapes created a really neat and interesting perspective that I could put on paper and make look like the actual thing. |
